When we decided to organize our retreat in Sri Lanka, we knew we weren’t just taking a trip, but embarking on a journey of reconnection with nature, our bodies, and our group. The “island of good fortune” welcomed us with open arms, smiles, and an energy that is hard to describe in words.
Culture, Ancient Secrets, and Wellness Practice
The first days in Habarana were full of images and experiences. We started with a deep introduction to the ancient practice of Ayurveda and relaxing massages, setting the foundation to release the tension of travel.
The exploration continued at the Dambulla cave temple and the imposing Sigiriya Rock. Climbing to the top of the 300-meter monolith gave us a unique view – and of course, we didn’t miss the opportunity for some impressive acroyoga poses against the backdrop of endless green!
Nature, Safari & Meditation
From historical Polonnaruwa to the thrilling 4×4 safari in Minneriya National Park, we came into contact with wildlife and saw elephants up close in their natural habitat.
Then, our visit to the Rock Hill meditation center was one of the most mystical moments. There, we deepened our history of yoga and meditation, finding inner peace before heading down to the coast.
Ocean, Sun, and Mangrove Forests in Wadduwa
Our transfer to coastal Wadduwa marked the start of the most relaxing days. We took a boat ride on the Madu River among mangrove forests, visited historic Galle, and enjoyed free time for surf, diving, and acroyoga practices on the sand at sunset.
The Power of the Group
Beyond the sights, Colombo, and the markets, what made the retreat unique was the energy of the group. We laughed, shared, trusted each other in the air, and created memories that will stay with us forever.
